2010 Locus Award Results

June 27, 2010

The results are in for this year’s Locus Awards, sponsored by Locus: The Magazine of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Field. There are ten writing awards, recognizing the best of the genre for Science Fiction, Fantasy, First Novels, Young Adult Books, Novellas, Novelettes, Short Stories, Anthologies, Collections, and Nonfiction/Art Books.

The 2010 Locus Award for Best Young Adult Book goes to Scott Westerfeld’s Leviathan, a highly-recommended, illustrated, steampunk-infused novel that rewrites WWI as a battle between robots and genetic manipulation.

This book has been on my to-read list since I first heard of it last fall, and with Locus’s endorsement, it just moved closer to the top.

Leviathan is now available in paperback as well as hardcover, Kindle, and audiobook versions, if you’d like to add it to your to-read list as well.
